The International Trade and Investment Attraction Division in Vancouver works to ensure B.C. has a strong trade and investment system and has the ability to advance international trade, investment and innovation opportunities.

Understanding that relationships are a cornerstone of business success, we work to advance B.C.’s relations with select international partners and foster mutually advantageous long-term relationships.

Missions

The Government of British Columbia organizes and supports industry-specific trade missions abroad to help introduce you to potential clients and partners. Often lead by Provincial Government Ministers, these missions aim to build long-lasting relations and help open doors to help your business break into new markets.

B.C. Alumni

The B.C. Alumni network provides an opportunity for those who have lived, studied or worked in British Columbia to maintain connections with the province and network with other B.C. alumni. The network has connected hundreds of alumni in Asia with senior government and business visitors from B.C. The B.C.Alumni also serves as a bridge to new friendships with fellow alumni.

Twinning

In Asia, many business partnerships are built on personal relationships. Establishing twinning arrangements between local governments is one step towards embracing the untapped economic potential available in Asia through establishing a familiarity between local government partners that may evolve into economically robust relationships. Local governments in B.C. are involved in more than 100 international twinning or sister-city arrangements.
