Pacific Gateway Mission to Asia
Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Shirley Bond – Nov. 1 - 10, 2010

 

From November 1 – 10 2010, Transportation Minister Shirley Bond led the Pacific Gateway Alliance Trade Mission to Asia. The purpose of the mission was to promote Canada's Pacific Gateway, a world-class transportation network of airports, seaports, railways, roadways, and border crossings, connecting Canada and the North American market to asia and the world. Minister Bond launched the 2010 Pacific Gateway Alliance Trade Mission at the Vancouver Board of Trade on Friday, October 29, 2010.

In 10 days, the delegation:

  • hosted and attended meetings and events in four countries;
  • participated in over 15 meetings with Asian corporations interested in doing business through Canada's Pacific Gateway;
  • toured Asian ports and international airports;
  • attended Supply Chain Logistics Canada event;
  • led a panel discussion at the World Shipping Summit
