British Columbia businesses participating in the Premier’s trade mission developed partnerships and explored business opportunities during the first stop in Seoul, South Korea
As a world leader in technology and innovation, especially in the areas of information and communications technology (ICT), digital media and clean tech, South Korea offers significant trade opportunities between B.C. and South Korean companies. B.C.-based Adtrack Media
is taking advantage of these opportunities, recently announcing an agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation (SMRT) for the installation of advertising technology and in-tunnel subway digital advertising in various sections of the Seoul Metro line. The company attended a business networking event related to the trade mission where they displayed their technology to attendees.
market in South Korea is also a developing opportunity for B.C. companies; the country is the third largest spirit and wine market in Asia, with a wealthy middle class developing a taste for western style food and drinks, such as beer and wine. This bodes well for B.C. beer brewers such as Fuggles and Warlock
, Whistler Brewing Co
. and Mission Springs
, which are operating in South Korea and attended a trade mission business networking event to provide samples.
