Trade Mission to China departs today

Premier Christy Clark departs on a trade mission to China today to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the B.C.-Guangdong Sister Province agreement and promote exports in key sectors such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), agrifoods, clean technology and information and communications technology (ICT). She is joined by International Trade Minister Teresa Wat, as well as representatives from six B.C. municipalities, one First Nation, more than 140 companies and community groups from across British Columbia. China mission will promote BC’s clean tech sector

When Premier Christy Clark leads an international trade mission to China from Oct. 30 to Nov. 7, 2015, one key focus of the mission will be to demonstrate how B.C.’s clean technology industry complements China’s need for clean renewable energy. China has a goal to develop 120,000 megawatts of renewable energy by 2020, requiring an investment of 800 billion yuan (about US$100 billion).
