Robert Allan Ltd. signed the contract in October 2015 with Italthai Marine Limited of Thailand, marking the continuing growth of B.C. companies in the Southeast Asian market.
The company’s Ramparts series is a well-proven, highly successful series of tug designs, of which more than 150 RAmparts 3200 Class tugs have been built, all for international customers. The design features high speed, excellent stability and sea keeping, enhanced astern performance and manoeuvrability.
Known worldwide for their reliable and innovative ship design, Robert Allan Ltd. has marketed its design expertise internationally from its Vancouver home for over four generations. The company’s executive chairman, Rob Allan, is the great-grandson of the company founder, Robert Allan, who passed the company presidency to his son and grandson.
Based in British Columbia, the company successfully sells a wide range of ship designs around the world. In addition to the Thai contract, it recently announced contracts for tug designs for clients in Bangladesh, Chile, Peru, Oman and Ningbo Port, China.
