Cloudhead Games Wows with Success in Virtual Reality

British Columbia’s Cloudhead Games is achieving national recognition with its virtual reality (VR) technology. Cloudhead was singled out as one of the most knowledgeable and dedicated virtual reality developers in the video game industry at the Proto Awards in California, an industry-wide virtual reality awards ceremony. Cloudhead received an award for the “Most Transportive” category.

Based in the Vancouver Island village of Coombs, B.C., Cloudhead also got a stamp of approval from Amrik Virk, B.C.’s Minister of Technology, Innovation and Citizens’ Services. Virk was impressed when he too  recently tried out Cloudhead’s new technology.

Established in 2013 by Denny Unger, Cloudhead is on a mission to create fully interactive and immersive VR experiences that set a new standard.

Cloudhead is one of several B.C. companies leading the way in the innovative technology and video games sectors. British Columbia is renowned for its strong and successful digital media and film industry that employs more than 84,000 people. The gaming industry has a huge worldwide market, and companies like Cloudhead have helped put British Columbia on the map.

Cloudhead is an example of a successful company that has chosen to set up shop outside of a major city, bringing interest and investment to a rural area. It has grown from three to 14 employees in just two years.
