• B.C. entered Canadian confederation in 1871.
• Our provincial motto is “Splendor Sine Occasu” which translates as "splendor without diminishment."
• Our capital is Victoria, located on Vancouver Island.
• Steven L. Point was installed October 1, 2007 as British Columbia's 28th Lieutenant Governor and the first Aboriginal person to hold the post.
