British Columbia has a wealth of clean energy sources. Ninety per cent of our total electricity generation is already clean or renewable and we are looking to new resources, including wind, solar and tidal energy.
British Columbia is a recognized world centre for developing and using hydrogen and fuel cells as a clean energy solution. Hydrogen and fuel cell products are being tested and used commercially in materials handling, backup power, portable electronics, fuelling infrastructure and transit bus applications. The province has the largest warehouse of bio-energy fuel sources in the world. This includes mountain pine beetle timber and over half of Canada's biomass electricity production capacity is located in British Columbia.
