It has well developed transportation and industrial infrastructure including close proximity to a deep water port, a well maintained highway system and CN Rail lines that link our Region to terminal ports across North America. This coupled with the Province of BC’s attractive energy costs, well-trained and experienced labour force and untapped mineral resources makes this region full of unexplored mining opportunities.
Agricultural activities in the Region related to dairy, livestock and forage production. There is opportunity for growth in the beef and cattle industry as the long history of ranching in the area has developed much of the required infrastructure for successful farming. The opportunities for large scale greenhouse operations are also on the rise in the Region, due to the growing bioenergy sector which provides low cost heating alternatives.
