VIETNAM – CANADA BUSINESS FORUM 2022

With economic reforms, pro-business policies and integration into regional and global markets, Vietnam has created huge opportunities for Canadian businesses. Vietnam had a GDP growth rate of 2.58%, a trade surplus of 20 billion USD and FDI of 28.5 billion USD in 2021. Vietnam expects its economy to continue to grow by about 6% in 2022, despite the pandemic, particularly from the manufacturing sector.

Vietnam is very well integrated into the global economy with 14 FTAs (including large trade blocs such as ASEAN, EU, CPTPP and RCEP). With 97 million habitants and a growing middle class, Vietnam’s market is increasingly attractive to Canadian companies, and can serve as a platform to expand to the ASEAN region.
