Virtual Trade Mission to Africa

The Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, the Honourable Mary Ng, and the Canada-Africa Chamber of Business would like to invite you to the first virtual trade mission to Africa for Canadian women entrepreneurs from February 21st to 24th, 2022.

Free of charge, this virtual mission will bring a delegation of 20 to 25 Canadian women-owned and -operated companies to network and discuss business opportunities with decision-makers and government officials from Botswana, Senegal, South Africa and Côte d’Ivoire, primarily in the renewable energy and information and communications technology sectors.

The African markets are open for business. On January 1, 2021, the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) came into force, opening up African markets. Canada has ten Foreign Investment Protection Agreements in place with countries in sub-Saharan Africa. In 2020, the Business Council of Canada reported that if Canada seized the opportunities in Africa, exports alone to the region could reach USD 6.6 billion in 2030, representing a growth potential of about USD 4.1 billion over the coming decade. To learn more about the African markets, we invite you to join this mission to deepen your understanding and grow your businesses on the African continent.

Please note that seats are limited to 25 for this mission. We encourage you to register at your earliest convenience.
