Located in BC’s central interior, the Cariboo Regional District (CRD) straddles Highway 97 from 70 Mile House in the south to just south of Hixon in the north, from the Cariboo Mountains in the east to the west. The region covers an area of approximately 80,000 square kilometres and serves a population of just over 60,000 residents.

The CRD is a regional government and consists of 12 electoral areas and four incorporated member municipalities, including the District of 100 Mile House, the City of Quesnel, the District of Wells and the City of Williams Lake. The Cariboo Regional District provides over 100 local government services for residents including fire protection, emergency planning, environmental services and planning as well as library and recreation facilities and services.

The CRD prides itself in working in partnership with communities large and small, to make the Cariboo Chilcotin a socially, economically, and environmentally desirable region to live, work, and play.
