Toosey Indian Band, People of Tl'esqox, is situated along Highway 20 approximately 45 kilometers West of Williams Lake, BC. It has a band membership of approximately 305 members. The Band is an Indian Act Band election band; therefore it follows the guidelines in the Indian Act.

The Toosey Indian Band is a member of the Tsilhqot'in Nation. The Tsilhqot'in Nation is a member of the Athabascan linguistic and cultural group. The Nation is surrounded by the Carrier Nation to the North, the Nuxalk Nation to the West, and the Shuswap Nation to the East and the Statlimc Nation to the South. The Tsilhqot'in Nation occupies land West of the Fraser River. The Toosey Indian Band or Tl'esqox people of Tsilhqot'in occupy traditional territory from its current location South to the junction of the Chilcotin and Fraser River.

At the Toosey Indian Band there is a band office which employs 10 to 15 employees, an education building, a store called Toosey Enterprises, a forest company called Chilcotin Plateau Enterprises Ltd, and a church.

There are 3 reserves, one is situated South of the highway at Riske Creek, BC and the other is North of the highway at Riske Creek, and the third is situated along the banks of the Chilcotin River.
