In winter, the big attraction is skiing or heli-skiing at Panorama Mountain Resort. Of course, any time of year is a good time to soak in the mineral pools at Fairmont Hot Springs or Radium Hot Springs.
Invermere's downtown caters to the influx of tourists that arrive every summer to enjoy the town's beach and lakefront. Discover upscale restaurants, quaint cafes and pubs, and a good variety of accommodation options: vacation rentals are popular here but there are a few hotels, lodge rentals and camp spots in the surrounding area too. Golfers are spoiled for choice - this valley has more golf courses per capita than anywhere else in the Kootenay Rockies - while shoppers can browse upscale art galleries and funky boutiques.
