Reflex Wireless partners with Weight Watchers International
Rising B.C. tech company ReFleX Wireless Inc. has reached a major milestone by entering into a partnership agreement with Weight Watchers International to introduce a co-branded wireless smart food scale. It is one of many successful companies in British Columbia’s tech sector that are finding interested buyers in the world market.

ReFleX will produce a smart food scale linked to the user’s Weight Watchers account through apps for iOS, Android and Windows. The apps allow users to access the most up-to-date Weight Watchers food database and record their food consumption. The smart scale will be made available to all Weight Watchers members in 20 countries in Q2 2016.
The unveiling of the new technology took place in December 2015, with the delivery of the first 1000 units of Bluetooth Food Scale and mobile apps for Canada and the USA markets. As of today, ReFleX is the only third-party company in the world to be given access to Weight Watchers internal system and points formula.
Staff from the B.C. Ministry of International Trade has assisted ReFleX since 2011 to market a range of wireless medical and patient monitoring devices through services including business matchmaking, meeting facilitation, strategic advice and participation in numerous B.C.’s sponsored events and business delegations to Asia.
ReFleX’s president Andy Tsai says that international events fuel the company’s business growth and vision. Its participation on business delegations had led to international brand recognition, partnerships and direct sales opportunities.
The company was established in 2011 to apply founder Carol Lee’s academic research on creating an automated patient monitoring system that could act without thinking. Since that time ReFleX has gained international recognition and developed a growing range of products.
