British Columbia’s exports bring money into the province to sustain and grow new local ventures and allow our people quality of life items including travel and goods and services from overseas. Exporting also allows businesses to grow to their fullest potential and expand beyond the domestic market.
Trade and Invest British Columbia supports this growth through tools and services to bring companies towards export readiness and help determine when they are export ready. Programs like Export Navigator
guide B.C. businesses through developing export plans, financing the shift, readying the required systems for shipping and payment, and getting products to market.
The Export Navigator program has community-based advisors who provide free support and guidance to help businesses develop export strategies and research new markets. They are specialists who provide regionally based companies with personalized approaches to becoming export ready, with market information, financial services and referrals to business development experts throughout the process.
Export Navigator is open to growth-oriented small and medium-sized businesses in B.C.’s Cariboo, Kootenay, North Okanagan, Pacific Northwest and Central Vancouver Island regions. Specialized services are also available for businesses owned by Indigenous peoples, youth and women. The provincially funded Trade Accelerator Program
assists companies in the Lower Mainland looking to develop a focused export readiness plan.
For companies that are ready to start exporting, Trade and Invest British Columbia offers international market intelligence and trade leads, market strategy advice, strategic connections, and a wide range of legal and financial services.
Trade and Invest British Columbia staff link B.C. industries and communities with international partners and provide advice on cross-cultural business practices, connections to business counterparts and company match-making services to foster productive business relationships.
